GeoVision Chooses Airgain for Superior Connectivity in IP Surveillance Cameras

Airgain to provide high performance embedded antenna system for GeoVision’s GV-EFER3700 rugged hemispheric surveillance IP camera

TAIPEI, Taiwan--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Airgain, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIRG), a leading provider of advanced antenna technologies used to enable high performance wireless networking across a broad range of devices and markets, including connected home, enterprise, automotive, and Internet of Things (IoT), today announced it has been selected by manufacturer of intelligent video surveillance systems, GeoVision, to provide embedded antenna technology for the GV-EFER3700 rugged hemispheric surveillance IP camera. The GV-EFER3700 is a 3 MP outdoor fisheye camera with wireless connectivity support and with the WPS function, it can easily connect to Wi-Fi routers.

Available now, the GeoVision GV-EFER3700 camera utilizes an advanced embedded antenna solution, utilizing dual band Wi-Fi. The high performance Airgain embedded antenna avoids the need for an externally mounted antenna, helping to ensure the camera is weatherproof and vandal-proof, and consequently offers more flexibility for surveillance camera installation in both industrial and commercial environments.

Jacob Suen, Senior Vice President of Airgain, said: “Security and surveillance cameras depend on secure and reliable connectivity, which is why GeoVision chose to work with us to ensure their IP cameras meet their customer’s expectations and their products perform as intended. Our engineering team developed an optimal performance connectivity solution to integrate seamlessly within GeoVision’s GV-EFER3700, making the antenna invisible to the outside of the camera, while rivalling the performance of an external antenna solution. We are looking forward to supporting GeoVision in the future as their connectivity demands continue to evolve.”

Vincent Chen, Vice President of GeoVision, said: “In today’s IoT world, it is no longer acceptable for surveillance IP cameras to be restricted by local network wiring design, wireless connectivity is essential. After evaluating several antenna options and suppliers, we selected Airgain’s premium embedded antenna solution because optimal performance was achievable with a zero footprint antenna, avoiding the risk of antenna failure due to weather or tampering that is associated with external antennas.”

This collaboration is another example of Airgain’s success through providing technology that delivers high performance solutions for products relying on powerful connectivity. For GeoVision, the Airgain antenna technology delivers high performance connectivity to the GV-EFER3700, allowing the camera to support H.265 video codec to achieve better compression ratio while maintaining high picture quality at reduced network bandwidths.

Airgain will be attending Computex 2018, held June 5-9 in Taipei, Taiwan. Airgain will be demonstrating its latest embedded antenna technology and hosting meetings at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. Contact Airgain at info@airgain.com to request a meeting.
